Maintaining a freshness of a flower is extremely hard and you cannot maintain them for a long period of time. The time a flower will be fresh is usually depending on the type of the flower but it is usually between 2 and 5 days if you do it the right way. The first thing that you have to do when you get the flowers is to hydrate and water them. The easiest way is to put them into a vase with water. You have to be careful not to put too much water because that can be bad for them. Put just enough so the water will cover up to 2 inches.

There are just two more things that you can do in order to make their life longer first thing is to change the water every 12 hours to keep the water fresh and cold. That is important because the water in vases can warm up after some time and the last thing you can do is to provide them with sunlight. Other than that, you cannot do anything else to help and maintain them. If you want to preserve the flower for some reason, then follow the steps bellow.
